Localization of chloroplast CTK-binding protein in cells of wheat leaves

Abstract

The localiation of CTK-binding protein in cells of wheat leaves was investigated using autoradiography and immuno-gold labelling technique. Electron microscope autoradiographs showed that silver grains (~(3)H-6BA) were localized only at the thylakoid membanes of chloroplasts. Immuno-gold localization showed that in wheat leaf cells, gold particles were mainly associated to chloroplasts, where they were concentrated in the thylakoid membranes. These facts suggest that the chloroplast CTK-binding protein is restricted to the thylakoid membranes of wheat chloroplasts.
