Abstract

In recent years, our country has made major progress in the basic research of lipids and glucose metabolism, as well as clinical research of metabolic disease. Our country has analyzed the basic frontier of six major scientific problems, including intestinal microbiome and lipid metabolism, cell stress and protein homeostasis, nutrition perception and signaling, metabolomics, adipose tissue biology and obesity and immune metabolism, etc. In terms of the pathogenesis of metabolic diseases, Chinese scholars have also made great achievements in the occurrence, development, prevention and treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, diabetes, tumor and aging, the establishment of new drug targets and the screening of new drugs. This special topic invited a number of famous experts and young scholars in the study of glucose and lipid metabolism regulation and metabolic diseases to introduce some hot issues and research achievements of lipids and glucose metabolism homeostasis, including 7 reviews and 6 original articles.
