Perspectives of physiological education in China in the post-COVID-19 era

Abstract

Over the past 90 years, Acta Physiologica Sinica recorded the development of life science in modern and contemporary China, carried the dream of building a powerful state of science and technology of countless scientists, and witnessed the glory of the revitalization of the new era. Since the foundation of the journal, the journal’s main columns included research paper, research letter, experimental technology and review, and it published the research results and progress of Chinese physiologists in the past hundred years, which has made important contributions to the development of physiology disciplines at domestic and abroad. Promoting training, discipline development and academic communication are the lofty mission and historical responsibility of Acta Physiologica Sinica, and the journal also need to publish academic research and communication in the field of physiology education and teaching. At present, the world is in the special period of the novel coronavirus raging, and the pandemic situation has had a great and profound impact on physiology teaching, research and training in the world. The reform and practice of physiology education, teaching and scientific research during the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in China not only effectively guarantee the quality and level of physiology education and teaching in China, but also play a leading role in international physiology education and teaching. For this reason, Acta Physiologica Sinica organized and published the special teaching column “Perspectives of physiological education in China in the post-COVID-19 era” for the first time in its 90 years history.
