Abstract

To observe the influence of tumor necrosis factora(TNF-a) on differentiation of rat mesencephalic neural stem cells(NS Cs),the numbers of neurons, astrocytes and oligodendrocytes generated from NSCs were analyzed after differentiation for 3 days by using i m munocytoche mistry technique. The
results show that:(1)TNF-a enhanced the proportions of neurons and endrocytes in progeny of NS Cs;and(2) TNF-a induced the proliferation of oligodendrocytes derived from NSCs,but the prolifer ation of astrocytes was not influenced by TNF-a.We conclude that the TNF-a could influence the application of NSCs.
