Abstract

Some highly selective D_(1) or D_(2),receptor antagonists were tested on rabbit skin pain model to investigate the effect of the subtypes of dopamine receptor on acupuncture analgesia. It was found that iv. of D_(2) receptor antagonists haloperidol and clozapine, had a potentiating effect on acupuncture analgesia. lcv. of D_(2) receptor antagonists domperidone and sulpiride and D_(1) receptor antagonist SCH23390, also enhanced acupuncture analgesia markedly. The effect of D_(1) and D_(2) receptor on acupuncture analgesia was discussed.
