The research on cDNA fragment of betaine aldehyde dehydrogenase (BADH) gene in Atriplex centralasiatica Iljin

Abstract

The result of Southern blotting shows that the BADH gene may have only one copy. Northern blotting demonstrates that the level of BADH mRNA in plants treated with NaCl 250 mmol/L is about 2-fold higher than in the control plants. It suggests that the expression of BADH gene is induced by salinity.
