Abstract

When the seedlings of strawberry and carnation were cultured while rotating around a horizontal axis on a clinostat, their photosynthetic characteristics were different from the control: (1) there were some increases in height and number of leaves per plant; (2) the content of chlorophyll in strawberry declined by 47.5% and that in carnation increased by 4.3%; (3) there was no change in position of the main absorption peaks, but the intensity of them was increased; (4) there were significant increases in the parameters of chlorophyll fluorescence inductive kinetics except CA/F_(0) (complementary areas of fluorescence rise); (5) there were some differences in excitation energy distribution between the two photosystems, but no function of chloroplasts was impaired.
