Abstract
The analyzing results of characterization of tonoplast polypeptides showed that the 58 kD peptide was absent in wild type under control condition and salt stress a small amount of this peptide was found. The mutant had a relatively mire amount of the 58 kD peptide under control condition or salt stress treatment, but its 29 kD peptide disappeared under control condition. We discussed the relationship between the enhancement of H~(+)-translocating abilities and the increase of H~(+)-ATPase and H~(+)-PPase activities in the tonoplast-enriched vesicles isolated from roots of the mutant and wild type treated with salt stress.
